We can choose the trait for the dorsal fins of the great white shark. The non-Mendelian inheritance pattern that we will choose is incomplete dominance.

Incomplete dominance occurs when the phenotype of the heterozygous offspring is in between the phenotypes of both homozygous parents.

We will assign these traits:

DD- large dorsal fins

Dd- medium dorsal fins

dd- small dorsal fins

This trait can be passed on when the homozygous dominant genotype (DD) is crossed with a homozygous recessive genotype (dd).

Suppose we cross DD X dd, the resulting offspring would be:

Dd, Dd, Dd, Dd- 100% medium dorsal fins
