we have the quadratic equation

y=x^2-3x-18

using the formula

a=1

b=-3

c=-18

substitute given values

x=(-(-3)(+_-)√(-3^2-4(1)(-18)))/(2(1))
x=(3(_(+\-))9)/(2)

The values of x are

x=6 and x=-3

the answer is option D
