Express the following sentence in algebraic language. A store sold a fourth, a fifth, and a sixth of a piece of cloth. There are still 20 meters left.

Let:

x = Initial length of a piece of cloth

Then:

x/4 = A fourth of the piece

x/5 = A fifth of the piece

x/6 = A sixth of the piece

After selling the fractions of the pieces, there still remain:

x - x/4 - x/5 - x/6

According to the conditions given in the problem, this is equal to 20 meters, thus:

x - x/4 - x/5 - x/6 = 20
