We are given the following equation that models the height of a ball:

`h(t)=15t-4.9t^2`

part a) is to find the distance traveled by the ball in the interval [1,3], to do that we replace the values of t=1 and t=2 in the equation, like this

`\begin{gathered} h(1)=15(1)-4.9(1)^2=11 \\ h(3)=15(3)-4.9(3)^{2^{}}=0.9 \end{gathered}`

The total distance is the difference between the two points, that is:

`h(1)-h(3)=11-0.9=10.1`
