Suppose we want to choose 2 letter, without replacement, from the 3 lettersA, B, C.

How many ways can this be done, if the order of the choices is not relevant

Answer:

only 3, A with B B with C and A with C, but if you can use the same 2 if reversed it would be 6, for it would be A with B, B with A, C with B, B with C, A with C, and C with A.

Answer:

3

Explanation:

We can choose three ways:AB, AC, BC, as the order is not important.

Or you can calculate 3C2=(3×2)/(1×2)=3
