The amount spent for 6 meals = $48

The coupon for a regular price of each meal is =$8

Leting p= regular price of each meal then an equation for regular price of each meal will be;

For 6 meals = $48

For 1 meal = $48/6 = $8

Letting p to be the regular price of a meal

This will be;

6 {p-$8} = $48 -----this means p minus the off coupon price multiplied by total number of meals, 6, should give $48 as the paid total amount.

Solving the equation will have;

6p - $48 = $48

6p = $48 + $48
