If the line is paralell to y = 5x + 7, it will have the same slope, which is 5

The general equation of a line is: y = mx + b

we know that the slope m = 5, and to find b we will use the point (3, -5)

using 3 for x and -5 for y:

y = mx + b

y = 5x + b

-5 = 5(3) + b

-5 = 15 + b

-5 - 15 = b

-20 = b

b = -20

Then the equation is: y = 5x - 20

Answer:

y = 5x - 20
