Given the equation


y=-2x-3

We draw the graph using the x and y-intercepts.

When x=0

y=-2(0)-3

y=-3

We have the point: (0, -3)

When y=0

0=-2x-3

2x=-3

x=-3/2=-1.5

We have the point: (-1.5, 0)

We draw a line to join the points (0, -3) and (-1.5, 0).
