Answer:

Given that,

Rahim's dad wants to paint the outside of his garage, including the roof

The dimensions are given in the figure.

a) How many sides of the garage need to be painted?

He need to paint 5 sides of the garge.

b) Name the two shapes that make up the front and the backside of the garage.

The two shapes that make up the front and the backside of the garage are rectangle and triangle.

c)To find the surface area that needs to be painted

Surface area that needs to paint = 2(Area od the front rectangle)+2(area of the side rectangle)+2(area of the top triangle)+2(area of the top rectangle)

Area of the front rectangle is

=2.2*3.8

where l=3.8 m and b=2.2 m

we get,

=8.36m^2\text{ }

Area of the side rectangle is

=6*2.2=13.2m^2

Area of the top rectangle is

=2.4*6=14.4m^2

Area of the top triangle

(1)/(2)*3.8*1=1.9m^2

Total surface area he mneed to paint is,

=2(8.36)+2(13.2)+2(14.4)+2(1.9)
=75.72m^2

Total surface area need to be painted is 75.72 m square.
