we have

(x-8)/-4=6

solve for x

step 1

multiply by -4 both sides

x-8=6*(-4)

x-8=-24

x=-24+8

x=-16

Part 2

we have

the equation

(6)/(7)\cdot(x+3)=4

step 1

Multiply by 7 both sides

6(x+3)=4*7

6x+18=28

6x=28-18

6x=10

x=10/6

simplify

x=5/3
