A jar contains 35 white jellybeans and 15 black jellybeans if you were to take a random sample of a jellybean from the store what is the probability that the jellybean will be black

The probability of an event can be obtained by:


P=\frac{\text{ number of favorable outcomes}}{\text{ total number of outcomes}}

In this case we have a total of 50 jellybeans, 15 of them are black then we have:


P=(15)/(50)=(3)/(10)

Therefore, the probability of choosing a black jellybean is 3/10
