We have the following rate:

\frac{160\text{miles}}{5\text{gallons}}

To find the unit rate, we need to have 1 in the denominator (and here we have 5). For that, we need to make the division between 160 and 5:

\frac{160\text{miles}}{5\text{gallons}}=\frac{32\text{miles}}{1\text{gallon}}

That is because 160/5 is equal to 32.

So the unit rate is 32 miles/gallon

Answer: 32 miles/gallon
