SOLUTION

We are told that the pool is 7 meters wide and the surface area is 49 square-meters. Since the pool is a rectangle, its surface area is the same as the area of a rectangle

\begin{gathered} \text{Area of a rectangle = length }*\text{ width} \\ A=l* w \\ 49=l*7 \\ since\text{ the area is 49 and the width is 7} \\ 49=7l \\ \text{dividing both sides by 7 } \\ (49)/(7)=(7l)/(7) \\ l=(49)/(7) \\ l=7m \end{gathered}

Hence the length of the pool is 7 meters
