The unit rate = Distance / time

For petes marbel from the graph the his unit rate is given by


\begin{gathered} (f_1-f_2)/(s_2-s_1)=\frac{(\text{distance 1 - distance 2)}}{(\text{time 2 - time}1)} \\ =(3-0)/(2-0) \\ =1.5\text{ m/s} \end{gathered}

For Stepheno's marble his rate is given by f = 2.25s

so that f/s = 2.25m/s

For Matt's Marble, his rate = Diatance / time = 4/ 2.5 = 1.6m/s
