Find the volume of a circular container if the radius is 13 meters and the height is 1.5 meters.

we have that

the volume of a cylinder is equal to

V=B*h

where

B is the area of the circular base and h is the hieght of the cylinder

so

step 1

Find the area of the base B

B=\pi\cdot r^2

we have

r=13 m

substitute

\begin{gathered} B=\pi\cdot(13^2) \\ B=169\pi\text{ m\textasciicircum{}2} \end{gathered}

step 2

Find the volume

\begin{gathered} V=169\pi\cdot1.5 \\ V=253.5\pi\text{ m\textasciicircum{}3} \end{gathered}

the exact volume is 253.5pi m3

the approximate volume is equal to

V=253.5*(3.14)

V=795.99 m3
