When we divide two decimal number, we can multiply the dividend and the divisor by a power of 10 to transform the numbers in whole numbers. However, we have to multiply the same power with the dividend and divisor because we have to maintain the consistency of the division.

In other words, if we multiply different powers of 10, then we would have the divison completely wrong.
