A (0,2) B (5,4)

C(1,8) D( 3,3)

Apply the slope formula:


m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

For AB


m=(4-2)/(5-0)=(2)/(5)

For CD


m=(3-8)/(3-1)=-(5)/(2)

So both slopes are negative reciprocals of each other.

They are perpendicular lines.
