The equation of the line;

Problem statement
Write the equation of the line; with the given properties, in slope-intercept form.
Slope (m)= -5 through (-5, 5)
Solution
The slope-intercept form of a line is y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the
y-intercept.

Since (-5, 5 ) is a point on the line, we can "plug in" -5 for x and 5 for y into our equation to obtain
![\begin{gathered} y=-5x+b \\ 5=-5(-5)+b \\ \text{open the bracket} \\ 5=25+b \\ \text{rewrite} \\ 25+b=5 \\ \text{subtract 25 from both sides} \\ 25-25+b=5-25 \\ b=-20 \\ \end{gathered}]()
We now substitute for b now
