Substituting with k = 1 into the expressions we get:

6(3k + 2) = 6(3x1 + 2) = 6(3 + 2) = 6x5 = 30

3(6k + 4) = 3(6x1 + 4) = 3(6 + 4) = 3x10 = 30

Substituting with k = 2 into the expressions we get:

6(3k + 2) = 6(3x2 + 2) = 6(6 + 2) = 6x8 = 48

3(6k + 4) = 3(6x2 + 4) = 3(12 + 4) = 3x16 = 48

In the table:

k | 6(3k + 2) | 3(6k + 4)

1 | 30 | 30

2 | 48 | 48

Since the results coincide for each value of k, then the expressions are equivalent.
