Set denominator to zero and solve for x.

x^2 - x - 12 = 0

Factor.

(x - 4)(x + 3) = 0

Solve each factor for x.

x - 4 = 0

x = 4

x + 3 = 0

x = -3

Answer:

The domain is ALL REAL NUMBERS except for x = 4 and x = -3.
