Given:

One student drove 670 miles in his car on 16.5 gallons of gasoline.

A) To find rate of the car,

\text{unit rate of the car=}(670)/(16.5)=40.61\text{ mi/gallons}

B) His sister drove 170 miles in her truck on 9.25 gallons of gasoline .

\text{Unit rate of the truck=}(170)/(9.25)=18.38\text{ mi/gallons}

C)

40.61-18.38=22.23\text{ mi/gallons}

So, the car gets more 22.23 mi/gallons than the truck.

Hence, Car gets better mileage.
