y = 7x + 2 → (2)

Substitute y = 7x + 2 into (1)

7x + 2 = - x + 10 ( add x to both sides )

8x + 2 = 10 ( subtract 2 from both sides )

8x = 8 ( divide both sides by 8 )

x = 1

Substitute x = 1 into either of the 2 equations and solve for y

Substituting into (2)

y = 7(1) + 2 = 7 + 2 = 9

solution is (1, 9 ) → B
