After doing some work in the house, Bob and Carol want to put a concrete patio on the side of the house to keep people from tracking mud inside. The dimensions of the rectangular patio are 23 feet 9 inches by 10 feet 1 inch. The patio will need to be at least 4 inches deep.

A.Calculate the volume of concrete needed, in cubic feet, rounding up to the nearest cubic foot.

B. The delivered cost of the concrete is "$6 per cubic foot plus a $50 surcharge for orders less than 100 cubic feet." Find the total cost having the concrete delivered.

A: 80 ft^3
to make math easier, I'm translating the extra inches into a decimal so it's a solid number to represent feet. 9 inches is 0.750, and 1 inch is 0.0833 of a foot.
23.750 x 10.0833 = 239.478375, rounding up to 240 feet^2
multiply this by 0.333 to get the volume needed for the patio, 80 ft^3

(79.92 rounded up to the nearest whole)

B: $530
Multiply the volume of concrete needed by the price per cubic foot.
80 x 6 = $480, and since the volume is less then the limit to surpass the initial cost we add $50 to our total cost, making it $530
