What is a dot product and cross product ?

Answer: vectors, can be multiplied in two ways, (i) Dot product, (ii) Cross product:

(i) Dot product: If we had two vectors a and b, we could take the dot product of them as follows:


\begin{gathered} A \\ B \\ \text{ Dot product}\Rightarrow A\cdot B=|A\mleft\Vert B\mright?|\cos (\theta) \end{gathered}

Visual illustration:

The result of a dot product is a scalar or just a number with no direction. dot product basically means a projection of one vector over the second one.

(ii) Cross product:

Likewise the cross product of the two vectors can be calculated as follows:
