Take into account that the inverse sine function of a number, is equal to the value of the angle, which inside the sine function result in the argument of the inverse sine function.

Consider that sin(30°) = 1/2, then, if you calculate sin^-1(1/2) the result has to be 30°.

Hence:

sin^-1 (1/2) = 30°
