We have the following:

(P\mleft(x\mright))/(x-2)=12

Therefore:

\begin{gathered} P(x)=12\cdot(x-2) \\ P(x)=12x-24 \end{gathered}

now, x = 2

\begin{gathered} P(2)=12\cdot2-24=24-24 \\ P(2)=0 \end{gathered}
