1 gallon of water → 60 pounds of dry mix

1 gallon of water = 8 pounds of water

The relationship between the amount of water and dry mix you have to mix are proportional. To complete the table you have to do as follows:

Using the given scale 8 pounds water + 60 pounds dry mix = 68 pounds cement and applying the cross multiplication method you can calculate how much dry mix and water are in 14 1/6 pounds cement.

Water:

68pounds cement _________ 8 pounds water

14 1/6 pounds cement_______x= (14 1/6*8)/68

x=(14(1)/(6)\cdot8)/(68)=(5)/(3)

In 14 1/6 pounds of cement there are 5/3 pounds of water.

Now for the dry mix you can know that:

Cament= dry mix+water → dry mix= cement - water

Dry mix= 14 1/6 - 5/3= 25/2 pounds drymix
