The midpoint of a line with endpoints x1,y1 and x2,y2

is defined as

x = (x1 + x2)/2 and y = (y1 + y2)/2

Hence considering the given, the other end

3 = (x1 -1)/2

x1 - 1 = 6

x1 = 6 + 1

= 7
