We have to write the equation of a line in the point-slope form, and for doing so, we remember it:
![y-y_1=m(x-x_1_{})](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/college/dl1cfwqxy56v41xyrqqpfbssz83xee851z.png)
where m represents the slope, and
![(x_1,y_1)\text{ is a point of the line}](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/high-school/vwn09gwttf0rcmoheugrvcf4pk3o1thcep.png)
As we have that m=-2, and a point is (1,4) we can just replace in the form above, to obtain:
![y-4=-2(x-1)](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/high-school/lblefi47heqlbelqnq6t7x1ainfgrbj19h.png)
Which is the point-slope form of the line with slope -2 and point (1,4).
