we have

-2(w+5)+7< -13

solve the inequality for the variable w

-2(w+5)<-13-7

-2(w+5)<-20

Divide both mebers by -2

REmember that

when you multiply or divide both sides of an inequality by a negative number, you must reverse the inequality symbol

so

w+5>10

subtract 5 both sides

w>10-5

w>5

the solution is the interval

(5, infinite)
