Notice that in order to have that angle 1 is congruent to angle D, we need to use a theorem that tells us that when a transverse line crosses two parallel lines, the alternate angles formed in their intersections are equal.

So in the image below:

If angle 1 is congruent to angle D (alternate angles among parallels) then the line represented by AB must be parallel tp that represented by CD (being the transverse line the one represented by AD)

That means AB // DC

which is the second option given in the list.
