we clear x

$\begin{gathered} 3x-5x=-9-7 \\ -2x=-16 \\ x=(-16)/(-2) \\ x=8 \end{gathered}$

the value of x is 8

the length of the diagonal is

LN=3(8)+7=31

MP=31
