Height = x feet

Width = 3(height) = 3xfeet

Length = 3xfeet

The door = 3feet wide and 7 feet tall

First, we need to find the perimeter of the room. Where P= the sum of the lengths of the four walls. Therefore:

P= 3x+3x+3x+3x

P = 12x

Now, the area of the gross wall is given by:

A = (3x+3x+3x+3x ) * x = 12x² ft

The area for the wall is given by;

A =Length x Width

A= 3 feet x 7feet

A = 21 ft²

Therefore, the expression for the wallpaper is the subtraction of the gross wall area and the door area:

=12x² -21 ft²
