The Vietnamese were fighting for their own freedom. They were motivated by their own valition. They saw the US as invaders who were there to steal their freedom. Their fighting Tacitus were old, the US was completely unprepared for these tactics and our soldiers were not trained to defend themselves in these situations. Another one of the US’s huge setbacks in Vietnam was that many of our soldiers were not there of their own will, they did not care all that much about the war. The Vietnamese were fighting for themselves and their children, the US was fighting for power.
