Since the triangle is an isosceles triangle (because it has two angles equal to 45°), both legs have the same measure. From the Pythagorean Theorem:


\begin{gathered} s^2+s^2=(8\sqrt[]{2})^2 \\ \Rightarrow2s^2=2\cdot8^2 \\ \Rightarrow s^2=8^2 \\ \therefore s=8 \end{gathered}
