You push an 8.0-kg box 2.0 meters on a frictionless surface with a force of 35 N, increasing its speed as you push.A) How much work do you do on the box?B)How much work does normal force do on the box?

The word done refers to the product between the exerted force and the distance that the body was moved. In this case, we have F =35N and d = 2.0 m, so

\begin{gathered} W=Fd \\ W=35N\cdot2m \\ W=70J \end{gathered}

(a) The work done is 70 J.

(b) In this case, the normal force doesn't exert any work because there's no friction.
