For the function:

m(x)=4x+15

You have to find the value of x so that m(x)=7

To find the value of x you have to do as follows, first equal the expression 4x+15 to 7

7=4x+15

Next pass 15 to the other side of the equal sign by performing the inverse operation

\begin{gathered} 7-15=4x \\ -8=4x \end{gathered}

Finally divide both sides of the equation by 4 to reach the value of x

\begin{gathered} -(8)/(4)=(4x)/(4) \\ -2=x \end{gathered}

So for x=-2 m(x)=7
