The DNA replication consists of three consecutive steps:

1st: Initiation, where the double strand of DNA is unzipped (1) and after this, the DNA is primed (2).

2nd: Elongation, where the new DNA is synthesized (3).

3rd: Termination, where primers and nicks in the DNA are removed (4).
