Since we have been introduced to complex numbers, we can take care of negative numbers under to square root.

The given square roots can be rewritten as

√(-2)=√(2)i

and

√(-18)=√(18)i=√((2\cdot9)i)
(√(-18))=3√(2i)

Therefore, the sum of these two numbers is

√(-2)+√(-18)=3(√(2i)+)√(2i)
\textcolor{#FF7968}{=4√(2i)}

which is our answer.
