Answer:

g = 2.5

Explanation:

0.4(g - 2) + 1.2 = - (g - 1) + 2.9 ← distribute parenthesis on both sides

0.4g - 0.8 + 1.2 = - g + 1 + 2.9 ( simplify both sides )

0.4g + 0.4 = - g + 3.9 ( add g to both sides )

1.4g + 0.4 = 3.9 ( subtract 0.4 from both sides )

1.4g = 3.5 ( divide both sides by 1.4 )

g = 2.5
