The midpoint (x, y) of the segment whose endpoints are (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) is

\begin{gathered} x=(x1+x2)/(2) \\ y=(y1+y2)/(2) \end{gathered}

Since (x1, y1) = (2, 10) and (x2, y2) = (-3, 6), then

Substitute them in the rule above

x=(2+(-3))/(2)=(2-3)/(2)=-(1)/(2)
y=(10+6)/(2)=(16)/(2)=8

The midpoint is (-1/2, 8)
