Mrs. Smith is putting up borders on her bulletin boards. She has 3 bulletin boards in her classroom. They are all in the shape of rectangles. Two are 6 feet long and 3 feet high. One is 5 feet long and 2 feet high. How much border material does she need to go around all 3 bulletin boards?

To know how much bording material is needed for the 3 bulleting boars we need to fin out the perimeter of each bulleting board and the add all 3 perimetes. Then:

\begin{gathered} P1=\text{ 6 + 3 + 6 + 3} \\ P1=\text{ 18ft} \\ \\ P2=\text{ 6 + 3 + 6 + 3} \\ P2=\text{ 18ft} \\ \\ P3=\text{ 5 + 2 + 5 + 2} \\ P3=\text{ 14 ft} \\ \\ Total\text{ perimeter= 18ft + 18ft + 14ft} \\ Total\text{ perimeter= 50 ft} \end{gathered}

Mrs. Smith will need 50 ft of border material to go around all 3 bulleting boards.
