Given the following expression:

(4)/(9)(2n-3)

You have to simplify it in order to find its equivalent expression.

First, apply the Distributive property and multiply the terms inside the parentheses by the fraction that is outside:

((4)/(9))(2n)+((4)/(9))(-3)=(8)/(9)n-(12)/(9)=(8)/(9)n-(4)/(3)

Notice that you have this fraction:

(4)/(3)

To write it as a Mixed number , you need to divide the numerator 4 by the denominator 3. This gives you 1 with 1 as the remainder. So 1 will be the Whole number and the numerator of the fraction will be 1. The denominator will be the same: 3.

So, the equivalent expression is:

(8)/(9)n-1(1)/(3)

The answer is the Third option.
