Answer:

The coordinates of B are ( 8, 4)

Explanations:

The coordinates of A are (x₁ , y₁) = (2, - 6)

The coordinates of M are (a, b) = (5, -1)

The coordinates of B are ( x₂ , y₂ )

The general formula for calculating the coordianated of the midpoints of a lline is given as:

a = (x₁ + x₂) / 2

b = (y₁ + y₂) / 2

Substituting these parameters into the two equations above:

5 = (2 + x₂) / 2

2(5) = 2 + x₂

10 = 2 + x₂

x₂ = 10 - 2

x₂ = 8

-1 = (-6 + y₂) / 2

- 1 (2) = -6 + y₂

-2 = -6 + y₂

-2 + 6 = y₂

y₂ = 4

The coordinates of B are therefore, ( 8, 4)
