4 - 2(x-3) = 24

Lets solve the parenthesis first

-2(x-3) you have to multiple -2 to each value in the ()

-2*x -(-2)*3= -2x + 6

Now back to the equation

4 -2x+6= 24

-2x + 10= 24 | subtract 10 from both sides

-2x= 24-10

-2x= 14 |Divide by -2 both sides of the equattion to reach the value of x

x= -7
