a point is translated 5 units to the left and 10 units up on the coordinate plane. write the translation in vector component form. if A(-24,35) is the preimage,what are the coordinates of the image?

\begin{gathered} a)\text{ Translation in component form;} \\ <-5,10> \\ b)\text{ Coordinates of image} \\ A^(\prime)\text{ (-29,45)} \end{gathered}

here, given the coordinates of the pre-image; we want to get the coordinates of the image

The pre-image is simply the coordinates of the point before the translation was performed

From the question, we have a 5 units translation to the left and 10 units upwards

By translating to the left, we are simply moving towards the negative x-axis and we have to subtract

By translating upwards, we are simply moving towards the positive y-axis, so we have to add

Thus, we have the coordinates of the image as follows;

\begin{gathered} A^(\prime)\text{ = (-24-5,35+10)} \\ A^(\prime)\text{ = (-29,45)} \end{gathered}
