Let n represent the number.

The phrase is converted as follows.

1) All real numbers less than -2:

  • n < - 2

2) ... and less than zero:

  • n < 0

These two inequalities have common range of n < - 2, so the graph reflects the part of the line to the left from point - 2 and this point is a shown as open dot that means - 2 is not included.

Plot point 0 and then - 2, two marks to the left from point zero, then highlight the line to the left. It will be your graph.
