Given the function:

m(x)=3(x+4)-2

if we have that m(x)=28, then:

\begin{gathered} m(x)=28 \\ \Rightarrow28=3(x+4)-2 \\ \Rightarrow28=3x+12-2 \\ \Rightarrow28=3x+10 \\ \Rightarrow28-10=3x \\ \Rightarrow18=3x \\ \Rightarrow x=(18)/(3)=6 \\ x=6 \end{gathered}

therefore, if m(x)=28, then x=6
