5x+7=12

to solve this equation we do operations on both sides to find x

for example if we subtract 7 on both sides

\begin{gathered} 5x+7-7=12-7 \\ 5x=5 \end{gathered}

now we divide between 5 on both sides

\begin{gathered} (5x)/(5)=(5)/(5) \\ \\ x=1 \end{gathered}

the value of x is 1
