We have the following equation:

(y)/(5)+\text{ 8 = 7}

We proceed to calculate the value of y, like this:

\begin{gathered} (y)/(5)=7\text{ - 8} \\ y\text{ = 5 }\cdot\text{ ( }-1) \\ y\text{ = }-5 \end{gathered}

Taking the value of y, we can calculate what they ask of us:

\begin{gathered} (y)/(5)\text{ - 2 } \\ (-5)/(5)\text{ - 2} \\ -1\text{ }-\text{2 = -3} \end{gathered}

Which means that the value they ask us us -3
